Kent's cricket committee will sit down before today's Twenty20 clash with the Middlesex Panthers to discuss the future of bowling coach, Geoff Arnold.
The former England seam bowler has been working with Kent after having been released by Surrey in the winter. The 64-year-old has been used in a consultancy capacity and was a huge help to coach Simon Willis while director of cricket, Graham Ford, was stuck in South Africa with visa problems.
Now Ford has returned to the county, the club will discuss whether to keep him on for the rest of the summer or not.
Ford told Kent News: "Geoff is still very much around. We are having a meeting with the chairman of the cricket committee (Graham Johnson) and there are lots on the agenda, with Geoff being one of them."
The South African said he was hopeful of retaining Arnold who has done well with the county's bowling attack.
"What I have seen of him, he has been fantastic," Ford said. "His record speaks for itself and it's a great opportunity for me to work alongside him and learn from him."
Ford also confirmed that fast bowler Amjad Khan has begun bowling and is able to run freely, but warned he is still some way off a return to county cricket.
Kent Spitfires take on Middlesex Panthers at St Lawrence today, with play due to start at 5.30pm.
