A light  snow flurry has caused trouble on the roads with crashes reported in the area.

At 7.30am this morning a two-car pile-up on the Thanet Way at St Nicholas at Wade caused long tail-backs on the London-bound carriageway while the road was partly closed.

A Peugeot 206 had collided with the central barrier, and then a Renault collided with the first car.

The woman driving the Peugeot and the male Renault driver were treated for minor injuries by paramedics.

Police advise motorists to avoid the area for the time being.

A car and a van collided on Stone Street (B2068) at Petham during the morning rush-hour causing drivers to take large detours.

Police remind drivers to be careful on the roads while the wet weather continues.
