Dog suffered multiple fractures
Police are appealing for information after a dog was found seriously injured on the A2 near Barham.
Officers were called to the coast-bound carriageway at around 10.15am on Friday, where they found the dog, believed to be a Lurcher Saluki cross, in great distress.
It was taken to the nearest vets where it was treated for multiple fractures. It is believed the dog lost its tail in the incident.
Police said the animal is expected to survive.
PC Alex Stuart, who was first on the scene, said: “Failing to report a collision involving a dog is an offence under the Road Traffic Act and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
“The dog appeared to have been lying in the central reservation for some time prior to us receiving the report of the incident and its owners have not yet to come forward.”
If you witnessed the collision or have any information that may help with this investigation contact Kent Police on 101 quoting reference number 10*419.
