Police appeal for witnesses to incident which left OAP fighting for her life
A pensioner is in a serious condition in hospital after being involved in a car crash in Canterbury.
Police this morning (Saturday) put out an appeal for witnesses to the incident which took place on Wednesday, January 25.
The incident happened on Hales Drive just after 2pm.
A silver Nissan Note car was turning from Manwood Avenue into Hales Drive when it was involved in a minor collision with a pedal cycle and then hit a tree.
A woman passenger in the car who is in her 70s, was taken to hospital in London by air ambulance with serious injuries.
She currently remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The male driver and a male passenger from the car and the female pedal cyclist were treated for minor injuries and shock at the scene.
The road was closed to allow officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit to investigate and was fully re-opened by 6.30pm.
Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has any information which could assist their investigation.
