Great Britain’s women take on China this evening (Tuesday) with two Canterbury ladies players hoping to help the team top their group at hockey’s Champions Trophy.
Britain will qualify for the quarter-finals in Argentina as Pool A winners if they can at least equal the Netherlands’ result against Japan.
Natalie Seymour helped Britain off to a good start in Saturday’s opening game. The Canterbury defender came off the bench as Danny Kerry’s side opened up with a 3-0 win against Japan - at world number nine the lowest ranked team in the tournament.
Seymour sat out Sunday’s meeting with the Netherlands, but club-mate Abi Walker played in goal as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2.
All eight teams will qualify for the quarter-finals, but finishing as pool winners would help Britain secure an easier game in Thursday’s games.
